Beautiful Angel peek at Niagara Cheonjeyeon


Niagara Cheonjeyeon is one of three waterfalls are the most visited in Jeju. This waterfall is different from the Niagara Cheonjiyeon although his name is very similar. So do not be wrong to visit him yes.

This waterfall has its own sights because there the water falls into three levels. Cold water flowing from the ceiling of the cave which later became a waterfall. Among the steep cliffs of the waterfall and the bottom of the waterfall, the water gushed out. The first waterfall in the form of a cliff with a height of 22 meters. There waterfall into a 21-meter-deep pool known as the Swimming Cheonjeyeon, which means god pool. From there the water back to the waterfall that flows into two, and then fell off a cliff 30 meters high. From this second level, the water flows back to the third waterfall lower ridge, and thence new water flows to the sea.

According to legend the locals, at night, seven beautiful angel will come down from heaven and bathe in the pool Gods. Then developing the myth in the past that if a person standing under the highest waterfall on the 15th day of the 7th month in the lunar calendar, the person will recover from various diseases before coming months to 8. However, now the visitors not allowed to swim in the pool, because the depth of the water is harmful. Therefore, in May in each even-numbered year, the Festival is held Chilseonyeo (seven nymphs) in this place.

On top of this waterfall built a bridge with bridge Seonimgyo name. Arc-shaped bridge with sculpted angel on both sides. The bridge stretches from east to west, and is above the waterfall section between the 2nd and 3rd, so the tourists can see a view of the falls first and 2nd. At each side of the bridge there is a beautiful figure of the seventh angel playing a musical instrument they respectively. The bridge is a sight of its own at night, because it is decorated with colorful lights, while during the day, you can enjoy the scenery during the day indulgent eye of this bridge.

In the vicinity of this waterfall, flourishes a variety of plants, including some rare plants, such solipnan. And this area designated as a nature reserve because of the diversity of flora.

In March to October, Niagara Cheonjeyeon operates from 08.00 to 1830, while in November to February, from 09:00 until 17:30.
If you would like to visit this place, from Jeju Airport, take bus No. 600 majors limousine Jungmun and Seogwipo, and get off at the Botanical Gardens Yeomiji (distance between the bus 15 minutes to 50 minutes travel time). After that you can walk about 5 to 10 minutes to the entrance of the Botanical Gardens Yeomiji and please buy a ticket there. If you use a taxi, traveling from Jeju International Airport about 30 to 40 minutes.
