Looked Jeju of peak Hallasan


Mount Hallasan (Mt. Hala) standing upright in the center of Jeju Island, and became one of the prominent landmarks on the island.
The mountain is also known as Mount Yeongjusan, which roughly means "mountain high enough to reach the galaxy". This mountain stands at an altitude of 1,950 meters and became the highest mountain in South Korea. Gentle slopes formed as molten lava as a result of volcanic activity of the mountain from time to time. However, the peak is quite steep.

Mount Hallasan is very famous among the researchers. The mountain is a habitat of a wide variety of flora and fauna, and also become a sanctuary for several species of plants and animals are already endangered. More than 1800 species of plants and 4,000 species of animals (including insects 3300) have been identified and live here. With these circumstances, the place is designated as a national park since 1970 and since then this place is protected. For reasons of research as well as for scholars to visit this mountain to examine the flora, fauna, and the rocks at this mountain.

To explore the wealth in this mountain, you only have to walk down the street that has disedikan. The mountain is relatively easy to climb. With the way the area is less than 10 miles in length, it is possible for the climbers to ascend and descend the mountain in just one day. However, you need to be vigilant with cepar changing weather and high winds that often occur. Therefore, make sure that you have adequate preparation for the climb to the top of the mountain.

As sights in other mountain peaks, scenic atop Mount Hallasan is also very beautiful, especially because once you arrive at the top of the mountain you will be able to enjoy the scenery of Jeju Pulan of height. Surely you will be able to see most of this beautiful island.


The mountain is open for climbing throughout the year, but if the weather is bad then there will be a ban on climbing. There were 5 route, namely:

     Eorimok - Peak Eoseoungsangak (1.3 miles)
     Seongpanak - Peak Dongneung (9.6 miles)
     Eorimok - Nambyeok Bungijeom (6.8 miles)
     Yeongsil - Nambyeok Bungijeom (5.8 miles)
     Temple Gwaneumsa - Peak Dongneung (8.7 miles)
To reach this place, from the inter-city bus terminal Jeju, take bus 1100 (Jeju, Yeongsil, Jungmun) and get off at the entrance to the hiking trail Eorimmok. The scheduled departure, 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 12:20, 13:40, and 15:00. Travel time is approximately 35 minutes.

Of the inter-city bus terminal Jeju, you can take a bus 5:16 (Jeju, Seongpanak, Seogui) and get off at Seongpanak. The scheduled bus from at 06:00 to 21:30 with a distance of 10 to 15 minutes of departure. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes.
