Recently discovered by the international river surfing community, Bono Tidal Bore by the mouth of the river Kampar in Riau Province is drawing people from all over the world surfing for this amazing Pororoca Indonesia.

Riau Kampar River is a long river that rushes down from the Bukit Barisan mountain range that forms the spine of the island of Sumatra along the western coast. The river then meanders through the province of Riau, finally mengalr in the Malacca Strait, on the east coast of Sumatra. Over the long course of the river itself is divided into two major branches known as Kampar Kanan (right branch of Kampar) and Kampar Kiri (left branch). They then gathered at Break in Pelalawan at the mouth of the Kampar. Here they were joined by many other rivers that cause Kampar to channel out into the wide river estuary. In each pair, the high waves of the ocean rolling in and meet downstream flow Kampar.
